MA Question 9 (2026) On the ballot Mixed ballot measure

Question 9: Referendum on an Existing Law (Chapter 135 of the Acts of 2024, "An Act Modernizing Firearm Laws", H.4885)

Voters decide whether to keep or repeal Chapter 135 of the Acts of 2024, a firearms law signed July 25, 2024 that, among other things, regulates ghost guns, machine-gun conversion devices and assault-style weapons and changes licensing and extreme risk order rules. According to the Secretary of the Commonwealth's summary, a YES vote keeps the law in place and a NO vote repeals it.

What it does: YES keeps the 2024 law (restrictions stay); NO repeals it (restrictions removed).
