Freedom to Carry NC
Would allow a U.S. citizen at least 18 years old to carry a concealed handgun in North Carolina without a permit, unless otherwise prohibited, while keeping concealed handgun permits available for reciprocity and other purposes. The ratified bill also increases line-of-duty death benefits, creates a scholarship for children of disabled or slain officers, and adds firearm-related criminal offenses. The Governor vetoed it; the Senate voted to override and the House has not yet completed an override vote.
What it does: Would allow permitless concealed carry for adults 18 and older.
